A FNFVF Inc Statement

First Nations Film and Video Festival Inc is making public this long-overdue statement on the situation in Palestine. As an Indigenous-led organization we cannot help but see the historical parallels to the history of Indigenous peoples here in the US. Therefore:

We, the undersigned Co-directors and Board of First Nations Film and Video Festival Inc make the following statements;

FNFVF Inc supports an immediate ceasefire in Palestine, and

FNFVF Inc supports organizations that support a ceasefire, and

FNFVF Inc supports calls for the end of US military aid that perpetuates these actions in Palestine, and

FNFVF Inc supports the growing number of Jewish communities calling for a ceasefire, and the end of military aid. 

We stand with other organizations such Jewish Voice for Peace, The Red Nation, the United Nations, Amnesty International and many more calling for a permanent ceasefire and the end of military aid that continues this violence.

We stand with other Indigenous American organizations working hard to educate our communities of this situation.

In keeping with our mission upholding Indigenous first-voice and self-representation, and working to prevent the erasure of Indigenous culture and history, which a ceasefire can prevent, FNFVF Inc will share our philosophy and support of the people and children affected in Palestine with the venues we screen at.

Moving forward, FNFVF Inc will incorporate this position in future venue selection.
