Event Three: FNFVF Online Panel Discussion Series Oct. 24, 6pm CDT

First Nations Film and Video Festival Inc continues its online panel discussion series with “The Other 51%: Native American Women Directors” taking place on Sunday, October 24th, 2021 at 6:00pm CDT (7pm EDT, 5pm MDT). Panelists include Native American women directors discussing issues that affect them in the industry and hosted by FNFVF Inc Board Member BC Echohawk.

The “Fine, We’ll Do It Ourselves” Online Panel Discussion Series began in July 2021 to give Native American filmmakers, producers, and festival directors a space to discuss topics that concern their art, their representation, and the ever-shirking spaces for Native voices. FNFVF Inc. is planning a winter and spring series for online panels.

POSTPONEMENT: Event Two of the FNFVF Online Panel Discussion Series

Due to no RSVP from invited guest, FNFVF Inc has decided to postpone the upcoming Sept 26th Event it was planning and focus on the Oct 24th event, “The Other 51%: Native American Women Directors”.

We have some new events in the planning, including more outdoor screenings in Chicago. We have new merchandise for sale at our TeeSpring store. All profits go to help festival expenses.

Stay tuned for more news on the upcoming  Fall 2021 FNFVF which runs Nov. 1 – 10, 2021. We will announce the opening event next week!

FNFVF Outdoor Screening: “Innu Nikamu: Resist and Sing”

Join us on Sunday, August 26th, 2021 at 7:30pm for our first in-person event! An outdoor screening of Kevin Bacon Hervieux’s “Innu Nikamu: Resist and Sing” a stirring documentary about dealing with the trauma of residential schools in Canada using the annual music festival.

Free and open to the public!

We will be screening at the First Nations Garden at Wilson Avenue and N. Pulaski Rid. at dusk. All Covid-19 protocols will be in place.

In collaboration with Chi-Nations Youth Council.
