FNFVF to participate in discussion on Race & Ethnicity

Race Event FlyerChicago, IL) The Unieros organization has invited FNFVF Director Ernest M Whiteman III to sit in and present on a panel discussion “Despierta: Race & Ethnicity” on Friday, September 6, 2013. The panel discussion will take place at Multilingual Connection, 2518 West Armitage Avenue at 7:00pm. In addition to Ernest Whiteman III, also on the panel will be Brett Russell Coleman, Doctoral Student, UIC Community & Prevention Research and John Ibarra, Organizer, Quennect 4/Multi Kulti Gallery.

Accroding to the Unieros website, “This will be first of many conversations that aim to wake us up to racial and ethnic issues that affect all of us. We hope these conversations will be we part of the healing process and support friends in our community who experience pain of racism when it happens. Topics discussion will include current events, stereotypes, historical events.

Unieros is a non-profit, multicultural organization dedicated to creating a diverse community of cross-cultural friendships among people who want to explore world cultures and build multicultural friendships. Based in Chicago, our multicultural friends represent countries in Africa, Asia, Americas, the Caribbean, and Europe. Unieros group hosts multicultural parties to promote cross-cultural exchange in fun social atmosphere. Established in 2004, Unieros began hosting multicultural themed events in 2009.
